Deployment

• Silent install — ToolProof_Setup_0.0.16.2.exe /VERYSILENT /SUPPRESSMSGBOXES /NORESTART /LOG=install.log (exit code 0 = success)
• Installs per-user under %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\ToolProof with no admin rights and no UAC prompt: shortcuts and the uninstall entry are all per-user (HKCU), and ToolProof registers no file types, so G-code files keep their own icons and default programs. For a machine-wide install, add /ALLUSERS (this one does require elevation). Machine-wide installs are updated by IT (ToolProof tells operators an update is available and points them to IT); per-user installs update with one click.
• Upgrades in place: the installer closes a running ToolProof automatically. Scripts can stop it first with ToolProof.exe --shutdown.
• Requirements — Windows 10/11, 64-bit. Core verification works offline; license activation and update checks use HTTPS to toolproof.dev.
• Network — outbound HTTPS (port 443) to toolproof.dev only: license activation, and a license check-in when ToolProof starts and about every six hours while it runs. The check-in carries the license ID, the ToolProof version and release date, the Windows platform name and three daily counts (programs verified, tickets printed, PDFs exported); never file names, program contents or tool data. ToolProof accepts no connections from other computers, and a blocked check-in never stops the app.
• Data on the PC: settings, the display choices and a tool history (tool number, name, count, dates and the last program name) are written under %APPDATA%\ToolProof. Nothing leaves the PC; the history can be switched off or cleared in Settings > Tools.
